MAIN LOTTERY

Draws and deadlines:

All draws will be held at the office of Stride Management Corp. 3950 -12 Street NE, Calgary Alberta.

  • The Loyalty Draw will be held at 11:00 am on June 15, 2023. Only tickets received at the Lottery Ticket Sales Centre before 11:59 pm May 31, 2023, will be eligible for this draw.
  • The Bonus Draw will be held at 11:00 am on July 12, 2023. Only tickets received at the Lottery Ticket Sales Centre before 11:59 pm June 28, 2023, will be eligible for this draw.
  • The Early Bird Draw will be held at 11:00 am on Aug 17, 2023. Only tickets received at the Lottery Ticket Sales Centre before 11:59 pm Aug 3, 2023, will be eligible for this draw.
  • The Final Draw will be held at 11:00 am on Sept 7, 2023. Only tickets received at the Lottery Ticket Sales Centre before the deadline of 11:59 pm Aug 24, 2023, will be eligible for this draw.

Final draw prizes will be drawn in order of the least retail value up to and including the Grand prize. All winning tickets will be eligible for all subsequent draws.

Prize draws follow a strict set of procedures, with draw control oversight by Stride Management Corp. under licensing approval by the licensing body, Alberta Gaming, Liquor and Cannabis (AGLC). Each prize draw will be conducted in accordance with the approved Raffle Terms and Conditions as put forth by AGLC. Draws are conducted using a Random Number Generator (RNG) system, certified, and approved by AGLC.

All the above-mentioned draws are open to any member of the public wishing to attend. Two lottery representatives or their designates will be present for all draws.

Only upon demonstrating extraordinary circumstances to Alberta Gaming, Liquor and Cannabis will the Licensee make a request for a draw date extension.

Files are continuously backed up by Stride Management Corp. In the unexpected event of a power failure, the draw will be postponed and take place immediately once power has been restored.

Eligibility:

Raffle guidelines prohibit the following people from purchasing tickets:

  • Lottery Manager
  • Ticket Auditor
  • Financial Controller
  • Employees of Stride Management Corp.
  • Immediate family of those listed above and anyone under the age of 18.

The Licensee will advise all purchasers not to include the name of anyone under the age of 18 on the ticket due to the requirements of the Public Trustee Act.

Prizes:

There are 927 total prizes for a total retail value of $2,100,011.02 (including GST).

The Winner will be notified in writing and/or phone call by lottery representatives; detailing what they have won and where they can claim their prize. Also, the name, city, and winning ticket number will be published within 14 days on the lottery website childrenshospitallottery.ca.

Vacation Prizes: Where air transportation is provided, Calgary International Airport will be the point of origin. Prize redemption will be subject to the availability of packages at the time of booking. All prize trips must be claimed within one year from the date of the draw. Blackout dates for trips and/or destinations are as follows: Christmas, New Year’s, Teacher Convention, Reading Week, Spring Break, Easter, Canadian Thanksgiving, Remembrance Day, US Thanksgiving, and any long weekends. Two months’ notice of booking is required by Vision Travel Group. Winners must decide on the trip or travel voucher option by September 25, 2023. If no decision has been made by this date, the travel voucher option will be awarded. All trips are for two people unless otherwise stated. Children are defined as individuals up to the age of 15.

Prizes must be accepted as awarded, there will be no cash substitutes unless otherwise stated. Winners of Prizes that have cash options must decide on the actual prize or the cash option by September 25, 2023, if no decision has been made by this date, the cash option will be awarded.

If any prize(s) remains unclaimed for more than three (3) months from the date of the draw, a request will be made to Alberta Gaming, Liquor and Cannabis for a decision regarding the disbursement of the prizes. The committee reserves the right to substitute any prize with a prize of equal or greater value if the published prize is no longer available upon the approval of Alberta Gaming, Liquor and Cannabis.

The possession date for the Grand Prize home will be no later than 30 days following the prize being awarded to the winner. All furniture and appliances displayed in the home will be awarded and must be accepted “as is where is”.

Tickets:

In the event a winning ticket stub lists more than one name, the licensed charity shall award the prize to only one of the individuals identified on the ticket, and the licensed charity and the AGLC are not responsible for any disputes which may arise between the different individuals.

All sets of multiple tickets must contain the same information. All tickets will be controlled by Stride Management Corp. and are only available by mail, phone, online, and at designated sales locations or outlets identified by the committee as required.

Tickets may be purchased with VISA, MasterCard and bank debit card. The Lottery Committee’s liability is limited to the purchase price of the ticket.

If any purchased ticket has been entered for any draw, no refund will be issued.

Children’s Hospital Lottery tickets available are single tickets at $100 each, sets of 4 for $250 each, sets of 8 for $375, and sets of 18 for $500. The total number of tickets available is 91,900.

KINWIN 50

In the event that a winning ticket lists more than one name, the Licensee will award the prize to the individual whose name appears first on the stub. The Licensee and Alberta Gaming, Liquor and Cannabis are not responsible for resolving disputes that may arise between the different individuals.

Purchasers are not required to purchase a ticket in the Children’s Hospital Lottery to purchase tickets in the KinWin 50 lottery.

Collection and Use

For previous supporters, we have the contact information we collected from you at the time you last purchased a ticket. The database of buyer information was compiled from our previous purchase records, both on and offline, and contains no financial information.
We do not automatically gather any additional personal information from you when you visit the website. Personal information is collected only if you supply it during the process of ordering a ticket or signing up to our email notifications. Financial information is only collected if you supply it during the process of ordering a ticket.
When you provide us with personal information to complete a transaction, we act on the basis that you consent to our collection and use of this information for the transaction, in addition to marketing purposes.
Personal information collected, including your email address or phone number, may be used to fulfill ticket orders, provide information on our future lotteries, contact prize winners and publicize the names of prize winners. In addition, we may use this information to keep you informed of our charitable work, funding needs, and opportunities to volunteer or give.

We may disclose your personal information if we are required by law to do so.
Our checkout page is hosted by Stride Management Corp. They provide us with the online, e-commerce platform that allows us to sell lottery tickets and extras to you. Your personal information is stored within Stride Management’s secure environment. These servers are protected by enterprise grade firewalls and are stored in a secure facility within Canada.

Payment

If you choose to complete your purchase through our website, your personal data will be collected and stored for the purpose of the transaction only. Your credit card information will be collected and used to complete your purchase transaction in accordance with Payment Card Industry Data Security Standards (PCI-DSS). At no point will your credit card data be stored within Stride Management Corp.’s systems. All data transfers are performed over a secure socket layer (SSL) encrypted connection.
All checkouts using our website e-commerce functions adhere to the standards set by PCI-DSS as managed by the PCI Security Standards Council, which is a joint effort of brands like Visa, MasterCard, American Express and Discover.
Compliance with PCI-DSS requirements helps ensure that the handling of credit card information by our website and its service providers is secure to payment industry standards.
Although no method of transmission over the Internet or electronic storage is 100% secure, we take reasonable steps to follow PCI-DSS requirements and implement additional generally accepted information security standards.

The Children’s Hospital Foundation respect your privacy. We do not rent, sell or trade our mailing lists. The personal information collected by Children’s Hospital Lottery will be used by the Lottery and Foundations to process ticket orders, notify winners, send out lottery information in 2022 and future years, and to contact you regarding marketing and fundraising efforts, promotional information and events, through email, phone or mail. Children’s Hospital Lottery 2024 – Payroll Deduction Program

 Phase 1 Rules of Play March 13-April 3, 2024 

Alberta Health Services (AHS) employees are eligible to purchase tickets through the Children’s Hospital Lottery payroll deduction program. AHS employees can only opt-in online at childrenshospitallottery.ca/payroll. AHS employees are not able to opt-in to the payroll deduction program through childrenshospitallottery.ca, by phone, kiosk, mail, or at the lottery show home.  

 

Phase 1 (Bonus eligible): Purchased tickets through childrenshospitallottery.ca/payroll will be deducted from AHS payroll on April 17, May 1, May 15, and May 29, 2024. These payment deductions will occur provided that the ticket-processing centre is able to validate the AHS employee ID and the opt-in request was made prior to the payroll deduction deadline of April 3, 2024.  

 

Please note that those who purchase through payroll deduction will not be eligible for the Loyalty Prize, as deductions will not be processed prior to the loyalty deadline. If an AHS employee would like to be eligible for the Loyalty prize, they must purchase their tickets through the Children’s Hospital Lottery public sales website.  

 

If you purchase Children’s Hospital Lottery tickets through the payroll deduction program prior to the phase 1 deadline you are eligible for these prize deadlines: 

 

  • Bonus Prize Deadline: June 6, 2024 
  • Early Bird Prize Deadline: June 27, 2024 
  • Grand Prize Deadline: July 24, 2024 

 

In the event a payment defaults and is unable to be processed during the above listed payroll periods, a lottery ticket will not be issued, and the AHS employee will be refunded for any payments that were taken prior to the defaulted payment.  

 

Individual ticket numbers are generated and issued once all four payments have been received. Individuals will be entered into the lottery draw once tickets numbers are generated. Lottery numbers are sent by email only.

*The final day to opt-in to the Children’s Hospital Lottery Payroll Phase 1 deduction program is April 3, 2024. Lottery tickets outside of the payroll deduction program can be purchased until midnight, July 24, 2024.
